  • Botox

In 2005, Botox was the second best selling pharmaceutical in the world (the top selling was Viagra). In 2010 43% of the Botox was used for cosmetic procedures and 57% for medical purposes. Since then, the cosmetic use has increased. Every year 100 000-300 000 animals die after being injected with Botox for scientific research. In barbaric experiments known as LD50 toxicity tests the animals are injected with the toxin and suffer symptoms including impaired vision, paralysis of the body, and paralysis of the diaphragm, which leads to death by suffocation. There are non-animal tests available that give accurate and reproducible results but they are not used as often. The people who willingly inject Botox into their bodies should be aware of the cost, but sadly to few of them are.

  • Wolves

    http://www.aftonbladet.se/debatt/debattamnen/miljo/article14294164.ab

This article is about the wolf "situation" in Sweden. In Sweden we have like 5 wolves and our very smart gouvernment decided a few years ago to kill like half of them to stop the inbreeding, but how did they know wich animals were sick? Well, they didn't so they just shot a bunch of random wolves. As a solution to this problem, to save the wolves in Sweden, someone came up with the idea of using the wolves as a tourist attraction so the gouvernment can gain money and the wolves can survive. So in Sweden we have two choices, to shoot all the wolves or use them to allure tourists.
I got pissed of when I read this article and as a respond to it I wrote my opinion about how stupid people are, and ofcourse a woman replied on my comment and said abosolute nothing. What's wrong with people, there's more to life than just to gain money? We need to step up and take responsibibity to save one of our most important predators.

Read the article from aftonbladet or the one from BBC if you are intresed in the situation. If you don't understand swedish? Use google translate or something like that.

What do you think about the situation?

  • Give Fur The Cold Shoulder

Today i read an article about Penelope Cruz and how she is working together with PETA towards a more cruelty-free fashion. She is also encouraging other celebrities to "give fur the cold shoulder".

The conditions the animals in fur factory farms live in is merciless and not to mention cruel. The animals is kept in cramped spaces and the fur factory farms can sometimes use killing methods like electrocution, suffucation, gassing and poisoning.

I love that someone with her status is making this statement and I hope she will influence others!
